Greetings Cyberwolves
Welcome to the November edition of “The Wolf Howl”.
As the holiday season approaches, so does one of the year’s busiest and riskiest shopping events: Black Friday. While consumers gear up for deals and discounts, cybercriminals prepare for their version of Black Friday, targeting unsuspecting shoppers, businesses, and organisations with phishing scams, fake websites, and ransomware attacks.
In this edition, we focus on how to navigate the holiday season without falling victim to these schemes. You’ll discover practical steps to secure your online transactions, educate your teams on spotting threats, and protect sensitive customer, third-party and organisational data.
Black Friday isn’t just about shopping; it is also a stark reminder of the importance of vigilance in a hyper-connected world. Whether you’re a cybersecurity professional, a business leader, or a tech-savvy consumer, now is the time to ensure your pack is protected.
At Wolfpack, we believe there is strength in the pack. Together, we can outsmart cyber threats and stay a step ahead in this ever-evolving landscape.
Stay informed and keep your digital defences sharp to secure your data.
Yours Securely

Due to their constant connectivity and portability, mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets are highly susceptible to cyber threats, including malware, data theft, and unauthorised access. The personal and often sensitive information stored on these devices makes them attractive targets for cybercriminals.
Attackers exploit outdated software, insecure apps, and unprotected Wi-Fi connections to gain access to mobile devices. Phishing attacks via SMS or messaging apps (smishing) are commonly used to trick users into revealing personal information or downloading malicious software.

Arctic Wolf’s “Human Risk Behavior Snapshot” reveals a significant gap between cybersecurity confidence and actual practices among IT leaders.
While 80% believe their organisations are resilient to phishing attacks, 64% have fallen victim themselves. Additionally, 68% admit to password reuse, and 36% have disabled security measures on their devices.
Organisations should foster a security- centric culture, encourage open communication, and implement comprehensive security awareness training programmes to address these issues.
